What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. When you use I'note, we collect the PDF files you upload and the study materials (notes, flashcards, quizzes) generated from them. We also collect basic usage data — such as how many PDFs you upload per month — solely to enforce your plan limits.

How We Use Your Data

Your uploaded PDF files are stored securely in Firebase Storage (Google Cloud). Extracted text from your PDFs is sent to OpenAI to generate notes, flashcards, quizzes, and AI tutor responses. We use your data only to provide the I'note service to you. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond the services listed below.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate I'note: • Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and file storage • OpenAI — AI-powered content generation from your documents • Stripe — payment processing for paid plans Each service has its own privacy policy. Stripe processes billing data directly; we never store your full card details.

Your Files and Content

Your uploaded PDFs are private to your account. Other users cannot access your files. You can delete any PDF or project at any time from within the app. Deleting a project removes your files from both our database and storage.

Usage Data

We store a monthly usage counter (e.g. number of PDFs uploaded, notes generated) to enforce your plan limits. This data is stored in Firestore and is only accessible to you and our backend systems.

Authentication and Cookies

We use Firebase Authentication for sign-in (email/password or Google). A secure, HTTP-only session cookie is stored in your browser to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Data Retention

Your account data and files are retained while your account is active. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at support@inote.academy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a notice in the app.
